Hospitalist: BC – Opportunities in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. Locum positions available!
Hospitalists in Victoria provide 24-hour continuous care at both the Victoria General Hospital and Royal Jubilee Hospital. Our hospitalists provide a broad spectrum of services including care of patients with challenging medical problems, palliative care, addiction medicine, geriatric medicine and general medical support for many surgical specialties and rehabilitation medical floors. Our Hospitalists also coordinate and staff physicians for our “Hospital at Home” (HaH) program which is an internationally-recognized model of providing hospital care in the comfort of one’s own home and opportunity also exists to work in this program. Hospitalists at Island Health are focused on safe, patient-centered care with the principles of quality, efficiency, patient flow and working within collaborative care teams.
Hospitalists are also responsible for providing clear service accountability. Island Health is affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine and Island Medical Program. Hospitalists support undergraduate and resident teaching at both hospital sites.
