We are looking for a family doctor who loves to work alongside excellent colleagues, and enjoys work-life balance, and is ready to practice in Vancouver.
There are 9 family practices, several of these are practice shares, and 2 NP practices who see cancer survivors through BCCAN.
We are a kind and collegial group, with a high MOA/MD ratio, in a brand new clinic space, with an excellent manager. The clinic directors/owners are also docs at the clinic whose mission is to create a place where everyone loves to come to work while providing excellent patient-centred care.
We are fortunate to be on Population-Based Funding, which is a unique blended capitation funding we have been a part of for over 20 years. There are only 7 clinics in BC, and it says a lot that NONE of them jumped for LFP when it started. We love it because the funding is truly based on complexity and follows the patient, so it is not service based at all. There is no clock to punch. You can take care of your practice however you like using the funding received for their care based on age and complexity. It allows freedom for team based care, hiring allied health care, or whatever you could imagine that might make family practice better for you and your patients.

- Schedule Description In person clinics are 9-12 or 1-4, and remote clinic schedules are up to you. Most doctors book appointments every 15 - 30 minutes. If you prefer evenings or Saturdays we can accommodate. We have same-day coverage for urgent problems for the entire clinic, and we each have an hour a week for these appointments.

- Perks We have an excellent breadth of knowledge and skill in our team of doctors and nurses who can help support you at whatever stagey you are at in your practice. A shared charting area means colleagues are always there for a quick collaboration. We also teach residents and other learners, and are always willing to help. We have a high MOA/MD ratio giving you excellent support both for clinical and administrative work. This clinic is well organized, and well established. PBF means we are much better compensated for complexity.
- Work Environment Join our chill and supportive group, in a newly renovated space, full of windows and light. The 2 owner/directors are also family doctors in this clinic so have skin in the game. Our goal is to create a workplace where everyone loves coming to work, where we support each other to provide excellent patient-centred care. We have a signal group to allow for quick messages on clinical or operational questions as they arise. If you have an interest in teaching, we also support learners, mainly residents. Our locums tend to come back, or have regular intermittent gigs for years, and many of our associates were once residents or locums. We would love to have you join us. - Community / Neighbourhood Located in an office tower above City Square shopping centre, there is a food court with bright windows and beautiful greenery open daily, in a unique setting with restored heritage building facades located inside. For sunny days there is outdoor seating with views overlooking the city and Burrard Inlet in the distance. We are conveniently located near the Broadway sky train station at Granville St, and in the VGH hospital zone. - Compensation Combined or Other Payment Models
- Estimated Remuneration Since remuneration depends on complexity it varies across practices. We have a range of $270 - $480 per patient per year, with most typical family practices coming in close to $300 - $350 per patient per year.
- Payment Terms Associates are paid every 2 weeks based on their PBF advances. The ministry calculations are adjusted quarterly according to the change in number and complexity of patients. 3rd party billing, ICBC, WSB, private, and some procedures are "outside the basket" and billed in addition to the PBF funding. Overhead is 35% of billings, with medical legal reports being excluded and billed at 100%
