The Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) has opportunities in both rural and urban communities on Vancouver Island, BC.

During your locum, you can fill your downtime with the all of the adventure and relaxation that our region has to offer. Qualifications:

• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
• CCFP(EM) or FRCPC(EM)

OR

• ACLS, ATLS, PALS (or other Pediatrics course) & Emergency Medicine experience

Remuneration:

• Alternate Payment Plan
• Fee-for-Service
• Travel Expense Reimbursement may be available for locum services provided in eligible underserved communities. Reimbursement includes:
  • Travel time honorarium (within BC):
    • $250  – 2.5 hrs or less return trip
    • $500   -2.5 hrs up to 4 hours return trip
    • $1000 – 4 hrs to 10 hours return trip
    • $1500 – greater than 10 hours
  • Paid mileage from your location to the site at $0.68 km
  • Meal allowance (while traveling)
  • Accommodation
