Monashee Medical Clinic is a small, friendly clinic located on the main street of Rossland. We have 4 permanent part-time physicians, a Nurse Practitioner and a part-time social worker. We all value work-life balance and enjoy mixed practices with a combination of community and hospital work.
We are looking for short-term locums to provide vacation coverage in our clinic over the summer as well as one more permanent physician to join our practice. Start date, schedule and duration are flexible.
There is often locum work available at our regional hospital on the Hospitalist, ER or Obstetric rosters if you are interested in doing hospital work in addition to community clinic work, but it is not required.

- Schedule Description Summer Locum Opportunity: Flexible schedule and work pace. We will work with you to create an opportunity that will fit your needs. Permanent Family Practice Opportunity: Flexible schedule and work pace. The ideal fit for our clinic would be a physician who wants to work about 10 days in the clinic per month with a patient panel of 600-650 patients. Most of our physicians work a mix of community and hospital (hospitalist, maternity, palliative care, mental health, ER etc.)

- On-Call/After Hour Requirements None. Our clinic is located 15 minutes from the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) in the neighbouring town of Trail, BC. KBRH has an Emergency Department, a host of specialists, an Obstetrics clinic run by a small group of family practitioners, and a Hospitalist service that sees all our in-patients who are not admitted under the specialists. All you are responsible for is clinic work, which you can do on-site in the clinic or virtually.
- Qualifications There is often work available on the Hospitalist, ER or Obstetric rosters if you are interested in doing hospital work in addition to community clinic work, but this is by no means required. Hospital privileges are required for Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital if you intend to work on one of these services, and we can help guide you through this process.

All the physicians at our clinic have a mix of practices that include community work at the Monashee Medical Clinic combined with work at the hospital or with other sub-specialities including Maternity Care, Palliative Care, Sexual Assault, Mental Health, Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine and Functional Medicine. - Compensation Combined or Other Payment Models
- Estimated Remuneration LFP Payment Model. Locum: Total billing revenue estimated at approx. $1800 gross revenue/day (take-home after OH approx. $1300/day). Permanent Position: An average physician at our clinic booking 15 minute appointments and seeing 20 patients per day bills approx. $1800 gross revenue per clinic day (this can vary greatly with work-pace).
- Payment Terms Locum: Billings split 72/28 with a cap at $500/day. OH terms are based on payments received. Permanent Position: OH favours p/t work. Currently, clinic OH is approx. 23 % - 25% of revenue from clinic billings (panel and other payments are paid 100% to the physician at this time).
- Incentives & Guaranteed Minimums Locum & Permanent Position: 11.3% rural incentive on all billings.
