The Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and McMaster Children’s Hospital is seeking a 0.5 FTE clinician locum to join the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. The Endocrinology Division comprises 6.2 pediatric endocrinologists and an extensive and dedicated interprofessional team from nursing, nutrition, social work, child life, exercise physiology, kinesiology and psychology. The clinician locum will be able to advance division and departmental goals within clinical care and education with 80% clinical duties and 20% educational duties.
The successful candidate will participate in outpatient clinics, in-patient service and after- hours call. The successful candidate will also share in the education responsibilities of the division, department and university, as they relate to the pediatric endocrinology residency training program and other learners whom the division hosts. This includes responsibilities such as bedside teaching for trainees rotating through the endocrine service, academic half day teaching, facilitation of PBL sessions and presentation at divisional rounds. Our pediatric endocrinology resident training program is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and it hosts an average of 4 trainees per year from diverse geographical locations.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have demonstrated experience and recognized training in Pediatric Endocrinology and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. A relevant graduate degree at the Master’s or PhD level would be an asset.
